Usage
The BlauWAL EVO series water treatment devices are used for the continuous desalination of cold, softened water to drinking water quality into two different water qualities.
The BlauWAL EVO series water treatment devices are designed for the production, storage and delivery of two partially desalinated waters, each with a different residual salt content. These two water qualities are typically used for:
Water quality Osmosis water,
electrical conductivity 15-80µS/cm for commercial dishwashing technology:
- Treatment of drinking water for glass washing machines
- Treatment of drinking water for the rinse zone of basket transport dishwashers
- Treatment of drinking water for the rinsing zone of conveyor dishwashers
Water quality AQUAmix,
electrical conductivity <250µS/cm:
- Treatment of drinking water for hot air steamers
- Treatment of drinking water for ice cube makers and crushed ice machines
- Treatment of drinking water for coffee machines
Functionality
The BlauWAL EVO is a latest-generation water treatment system
based on many years of experience with the BlauWAL400 and BlauWAL NG series.
The BlauWAL EVO reverse osmosis device meets the special requirements of hotels and restaurants. It is even more user-friendly and can be operated extremely energy-efficiently, not least thanks to the use of three frequency-controlled pumps.
The device produces partially desalinated water (permeate) from drinking water, which is then blended with soft water and temporarily stored in two separate storage tanks, each with a different quality.
Supplying consumer circuits with the optimum water quality not only leads to the best results, but also protects the equipment. Repair costs for equipment, which are often caused by unsuitable water quality, are avoided. Depending on the application, significant savings can also be achieved in consumer operating materials.
Expensive stand-alone solutions such as decentralised water softening systems, full and partial desalination cartridges, etc. for supplying individual consumers can usually be completely eliminated.
The use of sophisticated control technology combined with intuitive operability reduces the burden on the operator.
Through the use of state-of-the-art electronic process data measurement technology in high-quality industrial design and the processing of process data by means of an industrial control system (PLC) based on a Simatic series PLC, all operating states are controlled and monitored fully automatically.
All operating states and operating values can be read at any time via a high-resolution graphic display with touch function.
Process parameters and messages are stored for a period of one week so that simple checks and diagnostics can be carried out at any time. This makes it easy to detect, for example, excessive water consumption or a defective withdrawal valve on a consumer.
This reduces daily operating data logging to a minimum for the user.
The integrated Ethernet interface (10/100Base/T, RJ45) enables communication with the local intranet via VPN or, in conjunction with the optionally available GPRS/EDGE communication module and a maintenance contract, remote monitoring by the W.A.L. service team.
The BlauWAL EVO's range of functions includes the following main components:
- Reverse osmosis assembly for producing permeate:
equipped with FlowControl II control system for maintaining a constant permeate output - Permeate assembly for rinsing technology:
for producing mixed water (from permeate and soft water) of a defined quality for supplying dishwashers, glass washers, etc. to achieve optimum and hygienically perfect rinsing results,
intermediate storage in an external storage tank, including frequency-controlled permeate feed pump for feeding the permeate to the consumers of the rinsing technology. - AQUAmix assembly:
for producing blended water (from permeate and soft water) with a defined and consistent quality for supplying coffee machines, beverage dispensers, steam cookers, etc.
The AQUAmix process guarantees a consistently high level of aroma for the guest. All components relevant to the process, such as mixers, valves, buffer tanks and feed pumps, are integrated into the BlauWAL EVO housing as fixed components. A stainless steel buffer tank and UV disinfection ensure optimum hygiene and safety. - Emergency supply assembly:
to ensure the supply of soft water to consumers in the event of individual units failing or a power failure - Control cabinet:
While the aforementioned assemblies are housed on a stainless steel frame with enclosure, all control assemblies are located in a switch cabinet that is also installed on the stainless steel frame.
